On October 12, 2017, winners were announced for the 2017 Innovation Awards as part of the CaGBC’s Greater Toronto Chapter Gala and Awards Program. Our very own Kevin Stelzer was awarded Leader in Sustainability.
Kevin Stelzer has continuously demonstrated a remarkable commitment to the pursuit of high-performance buildings and the advancement of sustainable building design and construction practices. He has served on the CaGBC Energy & Engineering Technical Advisory Group, the World Green Building Council Residential Performance Committee, and on the UN Sustainable Buildings & Climate Initiative Task Force. Through some of his recent works such as the new Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation at Mohawk College’s Fennel Campus, the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation and the First Canadian Place Re-cladding Project; Kevin has demonstrated his commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable design, a collaborative design approach and in-depth knowledge of technical project details. Kevin’s advocacy for sustainable policies and practices has had a marked local impact and has positioned him not only as a valued resource within his firm, but also with his clients and his industry peers.
Another winner for the evening, Mohawk College Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation (a joint venture between B+H Architects and McCallumSather) picked up an award for Innovation in Sustainability.
