We introduced Washington Holdings to an exciting opportunity to help a local developer realize a hotel at the centre of Redmond Town Center’s revitalization plans. Within the guidelines of the proven Hilton Garden Inn model, we leveraged the location to present a welcoming, pedestrian-friendly face to the burgeoning neighbourhood and set the tone the City hopes future development to follow.
The public space at the heart of the project encompasses retail, reception, fireplace, lounge, bar, café, and library, which spill onto the streetscape where canopies offer weather protection and landscaping integrates outdoor café seating. The lobby staircase leads guests to a pre-function space with 3,000 square feet of meeting space and a large outdoor terrace for everything from intimate fireside gatherings to wedding celebrations. We experimented with multiple iterations before choosing an L-shaped floorplan to maximize the number of rooms. The goodwill we created with the City allowed us to obtain a variation from the parking code to maximize public space and improve the building’s street appeal.
