Respecting The Past, Building The Future

Fairmont Palliser

Set in the heart of Calgary, the Fairmont Palliser is one of the city’s oldest and most esteemed hotels and a distinctive historic property within the Fairmont chain. CHIL Interior Design, the hospitality studio of B+H, renovated the hotel to celebrate its centennial in 2014. The renovation includes a transformation of 205 well-appointed guestrooms and heritage suites, as well as the corridors. Adding to the charm of the property, the layout and design of the individual rooms are quite varied, providing guests with unique experiences.

Elegant furnishing and finishes celebrate the beauty of this landmark location, complement its rich history and architecture, and reflect the essence and history of the city. Original features such as high ceilings ornamented with medallions, wall friezes, and tall windows have been highlighted and refreshed. A sense of contemporary sophistication is created through the layering of luxurious soothing tones and opulent textures. As a nod to Calgary’s cowboy past; masculine cognac and grey leathers, metal nailhead details, and historic pieces of art are incorporated and softened with warm neutrals and refined wood tones.

Furniture pieces are designed to embody the fine balance between classic form and contemporary finishes. Small-scale bathrooms are reimagined with a focus on tailored and sophisticated elements by combining the sparkle of chrome accents, white marble tile, and dramatic stone countertops. Guests of the Fairmont Palliser are left with a lasting impression created by elements that speak to the past and future of this evolving city.
