The second Shangri-La in North America following the acclaimed location in Vancouver, this 5-star luxury hotel occupies the first seventeen storeys of a hotel and residential tower on University Avenue – a major artery in downtown Toronto. Offering guests breathtaking views of the city, a stay at Shangri-La Toronto offers luxury accommodations for guests travelling for business and pleasure in Canada’s largest metropolis.
Our design team at CHIL Interior Design, the hospitality studio of B+H, was responsible for function spaces, the theatre, the Miraj Hammam spa, the gym, and 200 guestrooms including the Owner’s and Presidential Suite. The design aesthetic throughout the hotel reflects traditional Chinese details married with clean and modern elements. Guestrooms feature contemporary and exquisite Bianco Statuario marble clad washrooms complete with traditional Chinese vanities and deep soaker tubs.
The spa provides guests with an authentic experience through Old World traditions brought into modern day. Inspired by ancient rituals of the Middle East and the vineyards of Bordeaux, there are two large Hammam steam rooms, a relaxing room inspired by Alhambra – a palace and fortress in Spain – and nine treatment rooms including a dual treatment/couple’s suite and Vichy room.
