Gaining A Competitive Edge

Tim Horton’s Field

Throughout the exploratory process, we discovered that retaining some components of the existing Ivor Wynne Stadium would actually be costlier than replacing the entire field for a state-of-the-art complex. In order to facilitate the requirements of players and spectators for the Pan/Parapan Am Games and into the future, it was essential to install new seating, public amenity spaces and parking. We also addressed the reorientation of the existing setup to better accommodate competitors when playing against the sun and created what’s become known as the best sightlines for football of any facility in Canada, creating an active and lively atmosphere.

The Ivor Wynne Stadium is now known as the Tim Horton’s Field and it continues to play its role as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ home while serving as an administration office for local soccer and community groups.
